Students on Tracks 1 & 3 have one final make-up school session on April 1st due to inclement weather in January. Bus pick-up times will follow the regular weekday morning schedule. The instructional day will be 3.5 hours, with a dismissal time of 12:45. Breakfast and lunch will not be served, but students may bring snacks to school. Please send a note if your child's transportation will be different from usual. There will be Before School Care, starting at 7:00 AM, provided for those already enrolled in this program.
The Before School Care program at Ballentine Elementary school is available M-F from 7:00-8:45. The cost is $96.25 per month. The children get daily time to play active games in the gym. They also rotate through other activities such as board games, puzzles, LEGOs, computers, etc. This program also helps social development as the children interact and build relationships with each other. Registration for the 2017-2018 program will begin at 7:00am on Friday, May 12 on a first-come, first-served basis (the student must be registered to attend Ballentine Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year before you can apply for Before School Care). There are limited spots available for the program.
No proposals have yet been made about which schools might change calendars.

Good evening Ballentine Elementary fireflies! This is Mrs. Short calling to ask if you have seen the great smile on the face of your child lately. In five, ten, twenty or more years, will you remember that smile and all the great things your child tells you about this school year? By buying a school yearbook for just $16, you can have pictures that will spark those special memories and capture your child’s smiles and those of his or her classmates for many decades. The deadline for preordering a yearbook is this Friday, March 17th. There is an online purchase link on the school’s website, and we have extra order forms in the office. At a base cost of $16, this is a great deal for preserving sweet smiles for many more decades!

Good evening, this is Mrs. Short from Ballentine Elementary calling to ask for help from our families. We are currently experiencing a high absentee rate due to illness and need your help in following the district’s procedures for illness. Please remember students should not return to school until they have been fever free, without the need for medication to reduce a fever, for 24 hours. If students return to school before that time, they are still contagious. We want to reduce the chance that the same illness continues to cycle through a class. As a school, we are having our custodians do extra sanitizing in rooms where there have been frequent absences due to illness and are asking the kids to make sure they wash their hands throughout the day. Thank you in advance for helping our students remain happy & healthy.
