  • PTA's Boosterthon Fun Run is Coming!

    The PTA's annual Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser is coming to Alston Ridge this fall. Look out for more information and announcements from the Alston Ridge PTA about how families can support the Alston Ridge PTA mission while promoting healthy lifestyles and physical fitness. Tracks 1 & 3 will hold the Fun Run on Thursday, 9/7 and Tracks 2 & 4 will hold the fun run on Wednesday, 9/20. See more for grade-level Fun Run times.

  • Curriculum Nights! (Formerly "Open House")

    We welcome parents to come and learn more about the curriculum for their student's new grade level from teachers at Alston Ridge. Teachers will deliver short presentations on how to support students at home, and will learn more about grading practices and homework. Questions are welcomed during these sessions. Curriculum Nights will be held in 2 sessions to accommodate families with multiple students at Alston Ridge. Both sessions will be identical. On Thursday, August 10, Tracks 1 & 2 will have identical sessions at 6 PM and 6:30 PM, preceded by a PTA Meeting in the gymnasium. On Thursday, August 31, Tracks 3 & 4 will have identical sessions at 6 PM and 6:30 PM.

  • Volunteer in our School!

    Online volunteer registration can be completed during school hours at any Wake County Public School building. All returning volunteers must re-register prior to October 31st to ensure that there is no break in eligibility. Prospective volunteers will submit to a background check prior to approval by WCPSS to volunteer.

  • School Messenger TXT/Email Messages

    The School Messenger phone message system used by WCPSS is expanding to include text messaging and e-mail. "Opt-In" to text messages when you receive a text. Or, you can simply opt-in to receive text messages by texting YES to the number 67587 now. The expanded service calls multiple phone numbers for all associated parents/guardians. You can choose how you would like to be contacted by using the new SchoolMessenger infoCenter website or infoCenter mobile app for Android and iOS. Review the Parents Guide to infoCenter (http://bit.ly/sm-infocenter) for instructions.

  • TGA Golf and Tennis Afterschool Programs at Alston Ridge

    Interested families can register for the community-based TGA Golf and TGA Tennis programs hosted on the Alston Ridge campus. Practices will begin on August 22nd to support students developing their skills in the lifelong sports of golf and tennis. All equipment is provided by the program's experienced coaches. Programs are fee-based and occur on Tuesdays. Registration is available at http://www.playtga.com/wakecounty

  • Community-based Afterschool Programming

    A variety of community-based programs will begin offering fee-based afterschool programming for Alston Ridge students. Programs include the Alston Ridge Band, TGA Tennis and Golf, and Young Rembrandts Drawing Program. Information about registration is available on the program website.

  • Parent Portal Open for Transportation/PowerSchool

    Beginning Tuesday, June 27th, parents can bring the Home Base/PowerSchool Parent Portal: Application for Access form with photo-ID to gain access to Home Base/Powerschool. The system will provide you access to your student's information throughout the year, including transportation information for the 2017-18 bus stop assignments/times.

  • Principal's Message Update

    Families and Community Members always have access to the latest information and reminders impacting Alston Ridge Elementary School through the Principal's Message's page. Look for the Phone Messenger Archive to view text of recent whole-school announcements that are delivered through the WCPSS Phone Messenger system. Updates will include information on upcoming events, district policies and updates, and the goings on at Alston Ridge Elementary School.

  • Kindergarten Registration and Orientation

    Kingergarten Registration and Orientation: Kindergarten Registration for the upcoming school year can be completed Monday-Thursday from 10 AM-2 PM in the main office. See the WCPSS Student Assignment website for more information. For more information about preparing for kindergarten you can view the ARES Kindergarten Orientation presentation.

  • Track Change Request Period

    The track-change request period for the 2017-2018 school year has closed. The ability of the school to honor track change requests is limited to the space available on the requested track. The track-change request period for the 2017-2018 school year was from 02/27-03/03 for students currently assigned to Tracks 1, 3 and 4. Track 2 was from 03/06-03/10. All request forms were received in-hand by 4:30 PM on the Friday of the track-change request window.
