EOG Volunteers-We have begun planning for End of Grade (EOG) testing and are in need of volunteer proctors May 30-June 6. Proctors are adults who serve in every test session in addition to a test administrator to ensure procedures are followed and the session runs smoothly. Having volunteers allows us to leave our specialists and teaching assistants in their classrooms and minimizes disruptions to the school as a whole. Single Subject Acceleration-Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level (in one subject) than is typical to provide access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities. SSA is an accelerative practice that allows students to show mastery of the content of a course without having taken the course. Parents and/or teachers can nominate the child to skip a grade level of content in either Language Arts OR Mathematics. Nomination forms will be available at ACE’s front office or through the online site listed below during the specified nomination windows. Parents may nominate students for this accelerative practice ONLY within the nomination window (April 6th- 26th). The assessment will be given in early May. For more information, please go to www.wakeacceleration.weebly.com or you can email Mrs. Argent at firstname.lastname@example.org.
