From the Wildcat PTA:WMMMS Staff Holiday Brunch & Cookies Exchange- Friday, 12/20/2024! 🎄✨
It’s time to spread some holiday cheer with our Annual Staff Holiday Brunch at WMMMS! Let’s make this celebration extra special by showering our incredible teachers and staff with warmth, gratitude, and a delicious buffet of brunch favorites and a magical cookies exchange. There’s no better way to kick off the festive season than with good food, amazing treats and great company on a crisp December morning!
This year’s brunch will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2024, and we’re kindly asking for donations of brunch items—think breakfast casseroles, pastries, fruit, drinks, baked goods, and more! We’d also love for staff to leave with a little holiday treat, so we are also welcoming cookies of any kind and flavor!.
On December 20, volunteers with carts will be stationed at the morning carpool from 7:45-8:15 a.m. to collect your contributions. Can’t drop off then? No worries! Donations are welcome until 9:30 a.m., as we’ll begin serving at 10:15 a.m. If your dish or cookies are gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or nut-free, please label it clearly. To help simplify cleanup, we kindly ask that you drop off items in containers you don’t need back. If you do need them returned, please pick them up by 2:15 p.m. the same day.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help with collecting, organizing, and replenishing food throughout the brunch. Even an hour of your time would make a big difference!
Please review the available slots below and sign up to help us make this event memorable. Thank you for helping us show our amazing staff how much they’re appreciated. Wishing you all a joyful, bright, and safe Holiday Season! 🌟🎁

This ends a 27-year baseball run for our West Millbrook Wildcats, and I am disappointed for our student-athletes who hoped to play for their school team this year. The transition from school team to club team is already underway. For more information about the club team (and even 6th graders are eligible), click BASEBALL.

NC CheckIns for Reading will be administered at all grade levels this week. These formative assessments provide feedback on student performance on grade-level-specific content standards and provide information about projected EOG performance. This data allows teachers and students to work together to enhance academic performance.
Congratulations to Leah Harkness who was named West Millbrook’s 2024-25 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Harkness is an ESL teacher at West Millbrook who works directly with our multilingual learners! Ms. Harkness will move on to compete at the district level.
Congratulations to Molly Todd who was named West Millbrook’s Diane Kent Parker First Year Teacher of the Year. Ms. Todd is our Extended Content Support Teacher.
From Student Council... November is National Gratitude Month! Student Council is asking students this week to take a few minutes to share some things in their lives that they are thankful for. We are going to create grade level gratitude paper chains. During lunch or in BIB next week, students will have the opportunity to write down things they are grateful for on paper slips that will then be added to their grade level's chain. The completed gratitude chain will be hung on each grade level's floor at the end of the week as a reminder of all we are thankful for at West Millbrook!
WINTER SPORTS TRYOUTS- (winter cheer, girls & boys basketball): Tryouts begin Monday, November 18. All registered athletes have been sent emails from eprijatel@wcpss.net - please support your child logging into their email from Wake ID Portal. Find all tryouts information here: bit.ly/WMtryouts
